TOGETHER WE WORK TO DELIVER A MESSAGE OF HOPE

Born in Fiji, Father Joe came from humble beginnings alongside his seven siblings. He initially studied and worked in a bank. His values drove him to move to the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Melbourne where he studied theology and became a Priest. Father Joe has spent the last two years at Saint Anthony’s Parish in Marsfield NSW and is the leader of the Father Joe Foundation

Father Joe wants to help children who are struggling by providing them with an opportunity to gain a better education, encouraging them to be the best they can be. He has witnessed the struggles and very real needs of families and children and he works to bring positive change for a better present and future for each child. 

Michael Coombs & wife Mia often holidayed in Fiji and with every trip, their exploration of, and their affection for, the islands grew. After visiting the less commercial parts, they recognised a real need for the children in the widespread poverty stricken areas. They were compelled to create a charity that supported the education, quality of life and facilities of the children on the island. Michael and Mia reached out to John McGrath and with a little help from Lote Tuqiri met Father Joe Tuimavule. There was no turning back, trips to St Vincents College Natovi became regular and the Foundation was launched.
